Each hold (except General Comments type) entered for a student must have a reason associated with it on Screen 010. The "reasons" for holds actually describe the office that placed a student on hold AND why a student was placed on hold.
Users may enter free-form narrative text on the blank line below each hold or waiver. This text is optional except when using a reason of XX, which requires some explanatory text.

ALL HOLDS TAKE EFFECT IMMEDIATELY after they are entered on SRS, UNLESS the user enters an EFFECTIVE TERM. If an effective term is entered, the hold does not take effect until the first official day of that term as specified on the SRS Term Calendar.
