SUBGROUPS ARE NOT REQUIRED FOR THE COURSE REGISTER. IF A DISCIPLINE/ DEPARTMENT ENTERS ALL OF ITS COURSES WITHOUT ANY SUBGROUPS, THE COURSES WILL PRINT IN COURSE NUMBER ORDER.
If more than one subject area needs to print under a department heading, or the courses for a subject area need to print in an order other than the course number, then subgroups must be used.
Each course in a discipline/department on the Course Inventory File may be numbered to fit into subgroup levels. First-level subgroups are sequenced by number, in the order they should appear within the Course Register.
The first-level subgroup is a set of courses that constitutes one area of study within a discipline or department's course offerings. The first-level subgroup headings print in bold type in the COURSE REGISTER.
Screen 1D2 is used to enter the title and description, if any, of a first-level subgroup.
At the cursor, type in the subgroup title in upper and lower case and press Enter.
